  rituals. This night we study in the synagogue during the night.\n\nThe cu
 stom of studying on the night of Hoshana Rabbah is first mentioned in the 
 fourteenth-century Sefer Abudarham\, where the author writes that some peo
 ple had the custom of reading the whole Torah from beginning to end on thi
 s night\, just to be sure that they had completed the annual cycle of read
 ing the Torah before the cycle was completed on Simḥat Torah.This refers
  to someone who did not complete the talmudically mandated tradition of re
 ading the Torah portion every week twice in Hebrew and once with the Targu
 m.\n\nTikkun will start at 9PM at Bar Yohai and will last through the nigh
 t until the next early morning.\n\n&nbsp\;
